I am writing to register my objection to the plan to build housing estates on the fields near the Woodlands Estate in Shirley. To remove such a vast amount of green space would be detrimental to the local environment, as well as depriving residents of access to these spaces. An increased population would also negatively impact on local resources such as roads (with the accompanying pollution), public transport, schools, healthcare, and council services.
