Full text:

The Council wishes to object strongly to the proposal to develop land at the junction of Moorend Avenue and Chester Road following possible re-configuration of the road junction.

The proposal will inevitably lead to the further loss of valuable and increasingly rare open space in Fordbridge. The land to the western side of Moorend Avenue on the edge of Meriden Park offers visual and recreational amenity for the local community but it would disappear as part of this proposal. Meriden Park is the only park of any substance in the Fordbridge and Chelmsley Wood wards and it would be reduced in size and enclosed and restricted by the proposed development.

Fordbridge and North Solihull needs its green space and development such as that proposed at Moorend Avenue will sadly over intensify an already densely populated area.
