Local Plan Review 2026-2043 Issues and Options Consultation

Ends on 16 March 2026 (40 days remaining)

Some Conclusions on Additional Supply

  1. Based on the preceding paragraphs it is considered reasonable that the land supply in the Borough to 2043 can be increased by 3,600 dwellings over and above that included in the 2020 plan. This is from the following sources:
  • Windfall – 1,200 dwellings.
  • Solihull town centre – 800 dwellings.
  • NEC – 1,000 dwellings.
  • Arden Cross - 600 dwellings.
  1. Earlier in this consultation document it was identified that to meet its own needs, the new plan would need to identify around 9,300 additional dwellings. Without allocating additional sites, 3,600 dwellings can be identified from the sources listed above. This would leave some 5,700 dwellings to be identified from new allocations on land that is currently located in the Green Belt.

  2. The following chapters in this document start to explore the issues and options around how additional allocations could be identified.
